HON. LISA RUBLE MURPHY (Ret.)
Hon. Lisa Ruble Murphy (Ret.) served as a Judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County in the Domestic Relations Division from December, 1994 until December 2015. From 1997 until her retirement in December 2015, Judge Ruble Murphy served as an independent calendar judge and presided over thousands of pre-decree and post-decree dissolution of marriage and custody cases.

During her twenty-one year judicial career, Judge Ruble Murphy was responsible for cases involving all aspects of family law including:

Allocation of parenting responsibilities and parenting time in a variety of circumstances including situations involving special needs children, substance abuse, mental health issues

Relocation of parents and modification of parenting responsibilities and parenting time as a result of a the relocation of a parent

In 2007, Judge Ruble Murphy became a certified mediator, successfully completing The John Paul Jones Group for the Cook County Circuit Court Comprehensive Mediation Certification. In 2013, Judge Ruble Murphy served as a member of ADR Exploratory Committee for the Cook County Domestic Relations Division. In January 2016, Judge Ruble Murphy served as a faculty member of the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education Seminar on Business Valuation & Tax Issues in Divorce.
Judge Ruble Murphy graduated, with honors, from Illinois Institute Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1984 and Smith College in 1980.
